President
Brett McGovern is a Founder, the President and Board Member of Bay Equity LLC. Mr. McGovern has more than 16 years experience in real estate sales and lending. Prior to co-founding Bay Equity, he was a Senior Vice President of Grubb & Ellis Company in San Francisco. He is responsible for key corporate functions including investor and warehouse line relations, oversight of accounting and secondary functions, marketing and corporate communications.
Jon McGovern
Managing Director
Jon McGovern is a Founder, a Managing Director and a Board Member of Bay Equity LLC. Mr. McGovern has 18 years experience in real estate lending. His broad experience covers underwriting, sales and executive management. He is responsible for key corporate functions including human resources, operations and technology.
Casey McGovern
Managing Director
Casey McGovern is a Founder, a Managing Director and Board Member of Bay Equity LLC. Mr. McGovern is in his tenth year as a mortgage industry sales professional. He is responsible for managing Bay Equity's wholesale and retail loan production.
John Curtin
Director of Business Development
John Curtin is a Founder of Bay Equity LLC and has more than 16 years of experience in consumer finance and lending. His management experience includes operations, underwriting and sales. He is responsible for business development and Bay Equity's recruitment effort for both the wholesale and retail platforms.
Dave Hardin
Director of Retail Production
Mr. Hardin brings more than 20 years of Retail and Banking experience to Bay Equity. His experience includes 10 years with Hawthorne Savings as Executive Vice President/Chief Banking Officer. He has served in management positions in retail banking, lending production and operations as well as sitting on various management loan committees. He has also served as an executive at World Savings, Columbia Savings, Valley Federal Savings and Downey Savings.
Julie Taylor
Director of National Operations
Ms. Taylor brings to Bay Equity more than 10 years of experience in Underwriting and Credit Risk Policy. Her areas of expertise include product development, investor relations, guidelines, quality control and compliance. As a former VP of Operations and Underwriting she is strong in both the retail and wholesale lending.
Chad Santander
Director of Secondary Marketing
Mr. Santander has 17 years of Mortgage Banking experience. The focus of his career has centered around the Capital Markets through trading and pricing roles with Freddie Mac and Tuttle & Co., as well as conduit, correspondent; and wholesale sales with ABN AMRO, HSBC, and Paul Financial.
Philip Mikolaj
Director of Information Technology
Philip Mikolaj brings to Bay Equity an impressive track record in information technology and senior level management. His background includes creating state-of-the-art IT systems for fast growing mortgage companies and start-ups. Plus, he has been responsible for implementing mortgage banking software at more than 100 mortgage bankers nationwide.
Jane Harre
Director of Accounting and Finance
Ms. Harre brings to Bay Equity 13 years of Executive level Finance and Credit Risk expertise. A former Managing Director of Homecomings, a GMAC company, she has expertise in Wholesale Lending, including responsibility for all financial accounting, treasury, budgeting, reporting, financial modeling and quality control functions.
Janice Bezou
Director of Appraisal Services, Chief Appraiser
Ms. Bezou brings more than 20 years of appraisal management experience to Bay Equity. She spent more than 16 years with Washington Mutual/Home Savings managing residential appraisal departments and assisting in corporate valuation risk management. Ms. Bezou held the positions of Short Pay Specialist and Asset Manager for bank owned properties at Wachovia Bank. She was most recently Chief Appraiser for ServiceLink, Fidelity's National Lending platform.
She holds the SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute and is a Certified Appraiser in California. Ms. Bezou earned a B. A. in Management from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, California.
Jim Corbett
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Corbett is a respected and experienced entrepreneur and business leader. He founded the Sacramento Entrepreneurial Academy which prepares highly motivated students from University of California, Davis and Sacramento State to successfully create and manage new businesses. He was Chairman of the Dean's Advisory Council for the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. He served for a decade as Vice Chairman/Board Member of Sacramento Commercial Bank, a $200 million bank that was sold in 2000. He is currently Chairman and President of Spectrum Capital Corporation.
